At the Token 2024 conference, Vitalik Buterin fueled speculation about the connection between Laputa: Castle in the Sky and Ethereum even further by using an image from the film during his presentation. The image depicted the floating island of Laputa, reinforcing the idea of a powerful, decentralized energy source—symbolized by the crystal "Ethereum" in the movie.
