What is Humanity Protocol ($H)?

Think of it as a "trust layer" for the internet. Built as a Layer 2 zkEVM using Polygon's CDK, Humanity Protocol is basically built to stop bots and deepfakes from taking over. You might wonder how it proves you're a real person. Well, it uses palm recognition—looking at vein patterns and skin creases—and wraps that in zero-knowledge cryptography so your actual data stays safe. The $H token is what keeps this whole verification engine running.

How does the Proof of Trust consensus work?

Proof of Trust (PoT) depends on a network of zkProofers and Identity Validators to check human identities. Here is the deal: when you scan your palm, the system spits out cryptographic proofs, but it never exposes your actual biometric data. Those transactions happen quickly on their Layer 2 network. To keep people honest, validators and zkProofers have to stake $H tokens. If they process fake verifications, they lose their staked tokens.

Are there specific use cases for the Humanity token?

Yes, $H is the main utility and governance token, and it's capped at a 10 billion supply. You need it to pay for things like humanity attestations. Apps actually have to pay fees in $H whenever they want to verify user credentials, like someone's age or where they live. On top of that, if you hold $H, you can stake it behind trusted validators to earn some passive rewards. And looking ahead to 2026, having at least 100,000 $H gives you the right to submit official protocol upgrades directly to their decentralized DAO.

So when are the big H coin unlocks?

They have a pretty strict vesting schedule that stretches all the way to 2029. Right now, the major allocations for Investors, Early Contributors, and Strategic Reserves are still sitting at exactly 0% unlocked. Those groups won't see their next big cliff unlock until around late June 2026. That said, there's a slow drip—or linear unlocks—happening right now for the Ecosystem Fund, the Foundation Treasury, and the Identity Verification Rewards pools. In fact, those specific pools are scheduled to release a combined 131.22 million tokens toward late March 2026.

Who is actually funding Humanity Protocol?

They've pulled in money across four different funding rounds. That includes a Seed round back in May 2024 that gave them a $1.00 billion pre-valuation, followed by another Funding round in January 2025. As for the names, they have some pretty heavy hitters leading the charge—think Blockchain.com Ventures, Mechanism Capital, Hashed, Animoca Brands, and Shima Capital. Basically, all this cash went straight into building out their Layer 2 network and bringing in their first 8 million users.

Was there an airdrop for early users?

Yeah, there was. Back in June 2025, they did what they called a "Fairdrop" to try and distribute tokens fairly. While the testnet was running, people could rack up RWT (Reward Tokens) just by doing daily claims and inviting friends. Then, when the mainnet finally went live, you could swap those RWT tokens straight for $H. The catch? To keep the bots out, you actually had to provide a "humanity proof" using their palm scan app, which made sure the tokens only went to real people.
