Stacks STX

Stacks is a platform that aims to bring the functionality and security of Bitcoin to the world of decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts. It does this by building a layer on top of the Bitcoin blockchain, known as the Stacks Bitcoin layer. This layer allows developers to create and deploy smart contracts using a programming language called Clarity.

One of the key features of Stacks is its trustless Bitcoin peg. This allows users to lock their Bitcoin on the Bitcoin blockchain and receive a corresponding token, called sBTC, on the Stacks blockchain. Stacks also utilizes a consensus mechanism called Proof of Transfer (PoX), which connects the Stacks blockchain to the Bitcoin blockchain. PoX involves miners transferring Bitcoin to secure the Stacks blockchain and earn STX, the native currency of Stacks, as a reward.

Additionally, Stacks provides funding opportunities for projects through the Stacks Accelerator and Grants Program.
