ConstitutionDAO PEOPLE

ConstitutionDAO was a single-purpose DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) that aimed to crowdfund and purchase the Constitution of the United States. It organized a crowdfunding campaign where contributors could buy $PEOPLE tokens in exchange for their contributions. The tokens were held in Juicebox at a ratio of 1,000,000:1. However, ConstitutionDAO lost the auction to buy the Constitution and decided to wind down. The tokens have no rights, governance, or utility other than redeeming them for Ethereum from the smart contract. Participants now have the option to claim their tokens or redeem them for ETH at the original contribution value.

ConstitutionDAO is unique compared to other cryptocurrencies because it is a single-purpose DAO focused on purchasing the Constitution. It was organized to raise capital and bid at Sotheby's auction for the Constitution. However, unlike other cryptocurrencies, the tokens of ConstitutionDAO possess no rights, governance, or utility other than redeeming them for Ethereum. The tokens can be claimed or redeemed at a ratio of 1 ETH : 1,000,000 $PEOPLE. Additionally, ConstitutionDAO cannot endorse any future plans for the token, and it is up to the community to decide how to incorporate them into future projects.
