Soneium Airdrop Guide: How to Join Sony Rewards

What is Soneium?

Soneium is a Layer-2 blockchain developed as an extension of Ethereum by Sony’s subsidiary, Sony Block Solutions Labs. Its goal is to make blockchain technology more accessible and convenient for the masses while bridging Web3 with everyday internet services. At its core, Soneium leverages Optimism technology to boost transaction speed and reduce fees, actively supports developers and content creators, and places strong emphasis on protecting intellectual property rights.

The Soneium mainnet launched in January 2025. Since then, the platform has attracted millions of unique addresses and processed tens of millions of transactions. Although Soneium is a newcomer to Web3, the project already has ambitious plans for integration with major Sony products, including Sony Music and Sony Pictures.

What is Soneium Score?

Soneium Score is a points program launched on August 28, 2025. Its primary goal is to increase user engagement within the blockchain ecosystem. The campaign is divided into several seasons, each lasting 28 days. Users are tasked with completing various quests and earning points in order to receive a unique NFT badge at the end of each season. Much like how Ethos is pioneering on-chain reputation to rebuild Web3 trust, Soneium uses score-based incentives to ensure that real participation — not just speculation — drives its community growth.

There are four key ways to earn points: activity points, liquidity points, NFT points, and bonus points.

Activity Points — measured by the number of transactions (swaps, NFT purchases, etc.). Each transaction is valued equally, meaning a swap transaction and an NFT transaction are weighted the same. This component also accounts for the number of unique active days (making at least one transaction within 24 hours) and consecutive streaks of unique active days achieved during the season.

Liquidity Points — earned by providing liquidity across various Soneium protocols. The list of protocols and assets is published monthly in the FAQ section. The liquidity metric is calculated based on the average TVL maintained during the season and is updated periodically.

NFT Points — based on participation in different NFT activities announced on the project’s social media.

Bonus Points — additional points awarded for joining temporary activities during the season.

How to Participate in Soneium Score?

To join this campaign, you will need any EVM-compatible wallet (for example, Metamask) as well as some Ethereum on the Soneium network.

First, let’s transfer ETH to the Soneium network. This can be done either through a direct exchange withdrawal (for instance, via OKX) or through a bridge. We will use the Jumper bridge.

1. Go to the bridge site and connect your EVM wallet.

2. After successful connection, select the source network (any network where you hold ETH for sending) and the ETH token.

3. Then, choose Soneium as the destination network and select ETH as the token.

4. Enter the amount you want to transfer and click “Review Bridge.”

5. Click “Start Bridging” and confirm the transaction in your wallet. Always pay attention to the transaction fee to avoid losses during peak network congestion.

Once you have funded your wallet with ETH on the Soneium network, you can begin interacting with the campaign.

1. Go to the Soneium Score campaign page and connect your EVM wallet.

2. Click “Let’s Get Started” and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

On the main page you will see:

• A window displaying your badges

• A countdown to the next season

• Your current season score

• Limited-time bonus quests

• Statistics of your on-chain activity

As mentioned earlier, points are awarded for on-chain activity on Soneium. Let’s look at an example quest to see how to earn them.

1. At the time of publication, Soneium awards additional points for swap transactions on Uniswap. To start swapping tokens, click the button or go directly to Uniswap.

2. On the Uniswap site, connect your EVM wallet.

3. Select the Soneium network and Ethereum (ETH) token.

4. Choose the token you want to swap your Ethereum (ETH) for, for example USDC.

5. Enter the amount and click Review.

6. Finally, click Swap and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

By swapping tokens, you earn points toward your overall score and increase your activity on the network. Swap tokens at least once a day to qualify for a badge in the current season. Remember, quests are temporary and have specific requirements. For example, the Uniswap quest requires completing 10 unique swap transactions by September 11. We recommend making several per day to increase the number of active days.
