About Blast ( BLAST)

Blast is a newly introduced Ethereum Layer 2 offering that quickly gathered the attention for its closed, invite-only early access campaign.

It was developed by the same team that created a popular NFT marketplace Blur. The team is led by an anonymous but renowned developer known as Pacman.

The devs bootstrapped the development by allowing interested individuals to use a multisig wallet for depositing funds. Given the fact that the team is trusted by the community, they managed to raise over $2 billion in funds ready to deploy before the project officially launched on February 29.

Blast’s documentation says that Ethereum managed to provide a 4% yield on ETH post-merge. Meanwhile, on-chain T-Bill protocols can provide a 5% yield on stablecoins.

According to Blast, if users do not match or beat these rates, they are losing money to a form of inflation. Blast’s goal is to help prevent that and ensure that users get to earn, instead.
