Centrifuge (CFG): Price and Market Data

This overview outlines the protocol's architecture, tokenomics, historical funding rounds, exchange availability, token unlock schedule, and legacy asset migration processes.

What is Centrifuge (CFG)?

Basically, Centrifuge is a DeFi protocol focused on bringing real-world assets—think real estate, corporate invoices, or structured credit—on-chain. The idea is to unlock liquidity that usually gets stuck offline. Back in July 2025, they actually overhauled the whole network to an EVM-native V3 architecture. They use this "Hub-and-Spoke" setup across chains like Ethereum, Arbitrum, and Base. It’s pretty huge for institutional DeFi because it lets corporate borrowers skip those annoying 90-day settlement delays you see in traditional finance.

What are the CFG tokenomics and utility?

CFG acts as the core token for network governance and incentivizing liquidity. You might wonder about the supply side of things—the initial 2021 genesis launch had 425 million tokens, capped with a 3% yearly programmatic inflation rate. Then, during the big EVM migration around May 2025, they had to mint another 115 million CFG. If you hold the token, you get a direct say in things. You literally vote on protocol upgrades, treasury spending, and even decide which new asset types get tokenized.

Who funded the Centrifuge protocol?

The project pulled in $53.83 million in total funding, selling roughly 90.53 million tokens across several rounds. Things kicked off way back in March 2018 when Mosaic led a $3.8 million seed round. The institutional backing here is actually pretty heavy. You've got big leads like IOSG Ventures, Strobe, and ParaFi Capital—who stepped up to co-lead that $15 million Series A in April 2024. Oh, and other major names like Galaxy, Coinbase Ventures, and Fenbushi Capital threw in capital too.

Where is the token available to trade?

You'll find CFG on most of the major centralized and decentralized platforms. A massive chunk of the volume actually happens on Binance and Binance Futures, but there's also solid liquidity over on Bybit and Kraken. For fiat on-ramps, Coinbase has direct USD pairs. Over in Asia, Upbit recently added KRW, BTC, and USDT markets in late February 2026. For the DeFi crowd wanting to stay purely on-chain, Uniswap is still your best bet for swapping the EVM-native version.

What is the CFG token unlock schedule?

For the most part, the older allocations are already fully liquid. Early backers and core contributors hit 100% unlocked way back in June 2022, and the CoinList public sale tokens finished vesting by June 2023. The foundation endowment continues to release tokens according to its schedule. Plus, there's a batch of 100 million CFG minted during the 2025 EVM migration that's locked into a long 4-year linear schedule. Those won't completely finish vesting until April 2029.

Is it still possible to migrate legacy Altair (AIR) tokens?

Absolutely, they made sure early ecosystem supporters didn't just get left holding the bag. When the Altair canary network finally shut down, governance pushed through a formal swap setup. Basically, you can burn those old, obsolete AIR tokens and get native EVM CFG back at a strict 100:1 ratio. They calculated that specific rate on purpose—it only causes a tiny 0.37% dilution to the main CFG supply, which keeps things fair for everyone while still compensating the early crowd.
