About Hylo

What is the Hylo DeFi protocol?

Hylo is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol on Solana that splits yield-bearing collateral into two linked tokens: hyUSD, a decentralized stablecoin, and xSOL, a 3x leveraged long-SOL token. The xSOL side absorbs collateral volatility, so the structure carries no loan positions and no oracle dependence. The product suite also covers hyloSOL liquid staking and an XP loyalty system. Hylo targets Solana DeFi users seeking stablecoin yield and liquidation-free leverage.

How does hyUSD maintain its $1 stablecoin peg?

hyUSD maintains its peg through a $1 mint-and-redeem mechanism. Users mint hyUSD for exactly $1 of collateral and redeem hyUSD for exactly $1 of collateral, with zero slippage. This arbitrage loop keeps the market price anchored to $1. The collateral ratio acts as the protocol's main risk parameter: when collateral value rises or falls, the ratio adjusts rather than the hyUSD price.

Is xSOL really liquidation-free?

xSOL carries no loan positions, so there is nothing for a liquidation engine to close. The token gives 3x leveraged long exposure to SOL and absorbs collateral volatility first, which makes the hyUSD structure liquidation-resistant by construction. The trade-off sits with xSOL holders: in a severe SOL downturn, xSOL absorbs losses before hyUSD collateral is touched, so leveraged holders bear the downside.

What collateral backs hyUSD, and what are the risks?

HyUSD is backed by a basket of Solana liquid staking tokens (LSTs). The backing started at 100% JitoSOL and later broadened to include other LSTs, among them Hylo's own hyloSOL. The primary risk is that this collateral is not itself stable: hyUSD's $1 backing depends on xSOL absorbing losses first in an extreme SOL crash. Holders evaluating hyUSD safety should weigh that LST collateral structure directly.

How does hyUSD generate staking yield?

Yield on hyUSD comes from the staking returns of the underlying LST collateral pools. Instead of accruing automatically, yield flows to holders through eHYUSD, a yield-bearing companion token, and through sHYUSD in Hylo Earn. Current yield rates are dynamic and change with Solana staking conditions, so holders check live rates rather than fixed figures.

Does Hylo have its own token?

No Hylo protocol token exists yet. No total or maximum supply is published, no on-chain token contract is deployed, and Hylo's documentation covers no tokenomics, allocation, or token generation event. The live Hylo assets are the protocol products themselves: hyUSD, xSOL, and hyloSOL. Any future token parameters remain undisclosed.

Who backed Hylo and how much did Hylo raise?

Per DropsTab fundraising data, Hylo raised about $2.75M across three rounds. Colosseum incubated Hylo in November 2024 with $250K from its accelerator cohort 2. A $1.5M seed round followed on August 7, 2025, led by Robot Ventures with Solana Ventures, YTWO, Colosseum, and angel investors. A $1M strategic round closed on October 20, 2026, led by Solana Ventures.

What does Hylo's investor lineup signal about the project?

The lineup signals Solana-ecosystem endorsement more than deep capital. Solana Ventures has invested in Hylo twice, including leading the October 2026 strategic round. Colosseum has backed Hylo at three stages, from incubation onward. Angels include Mert Mumtaz, CEO of Helius, and Kash Dhanda. The rounds are small and syndicated, and no single known investor holds over 20%, which keeps concentration risk low.

How do Hylo XP points work in Season 0?

Hylo XP points accrue daily for every dollar held in Hylo products under Season 0, a points program that started on July 17, 2025 with no announced end date. Per the program rules, xSOL earns 20 XP per dollar per day, hyUSD and hyloSOL+ earn 5, and sHYUSD and hyloSOL earn 1. Referrals add 10% of referred users' XP. Hylo does not officially confirm a token or airdrop, so farming XP is a bet on a future distribution.

Is the Hylo token available to trade?

No Hylo protocol token trades anywhere yet, and no centralized exchange listing is announced. HyUSD and xSOL do exist as tokens on Solana and trade on-chain, with hyUSD tracked by aggregators as a stablecoin, but on-chain liquidity is thin compared with major stablecoins. Under current public plans, any future Hylo token would launch with DEX-only liquidity and no exchange partnerships disclosed.
