What is Lisk (LSK) coin?

Lisk is a cryptocurrency project founded in 2016 as a JavaScript-based dapp platform on its own Layer-1 blockchain. In May 2024, Lisk migrated to an Ethereum Layer-2 built with the OP Stack on Optimism's Superchain. In August 2026, the company announced a pivot to stablecoin business finance — accounts, payments and approvals for finance teams, built with the regulated partner Bridge, a Stripe company. LSK remains a live, trading ERC-20 token on Ethereum, classified by DropsTab under Layer-2, Superchain and Ethereum Ecosystem.

Is Lisk (LSK) shutting down?

The Lisk Chain shuts down on October 31, 2026. The Lisk DAO passed a cessation proposal and is winding down governance. After the shutdown date, LSK stranded on the Lisk Chain — including staked LSK — becomes inaccessible, with no recovery process, no claim window and no support route per the official withdrawal guide. LSK as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum is unaffected and remains tradable. Projects on the chain have an optional migration path to Celo via the Celo Core Co. team.

How do I withdraw LSK tokens from the Lisk Chain to Ethereum?

Migration involves two steps: unstaking and bridging. Holders unstake LSK through the Lisk Portal — the standard wait is 3 days, and the emergency-unlock penalty is waived during the wind-down. LSK then moves to Ethereum through the Lisk bridge, the only working bridge. Withdrawal takes roughly 8 days on the Layer-2 plus a 7-day challenge period, so Lisk recommends starting at least 8–11 days before the October 31, 2026 shutdown. LSK already on Ethereum or on an exchange requires no action.

Can you still buy and trade LSK?

Yes — LSK is currently trading, and no delisting of the Ethereum token has been announced. According to DropsTab data, LSK trades across more than 20 spot and derivatives markets: spot pairs on Binance, Upbit, OKX, Kraken and KuCoin, plus perpetual futures on Binance Futures, Bybit and MEXC. Onchain liquidity is thin — Uniswap v3 hosts the single tracked DEX pool — so most trading volume runs through centralized exchanges.

What is LSK used for after the pivot?

After the August 2026 pivot, LSK is framed as the loyalty token of the new Lisk — a stablecoin business-finance platform built on the Bridge partnership. The token serves business rewards and fee payment within that product. Earlier, LSK paid for transactions and governance on the Lisk Layer-2, a network shutting down on October 31, 2026. During the transition, LSK's primary market role is a tradable ERC-20 asset on Ethereum.

How large is LSK's total supply, and is a burn reducing it?

LSK has a fixed maximum and total supply of 400,000,000 tokens, enforced in the ERC-20 contract on Ethereum per DropsTab data. The cap arrived with the 2023 LSK 2.0 migration, replacing the original inflationary model — genesis supply was 100,000,000 LSK. Of the capped total, 100 million LSK (25%) was earmarked for a 10-year DAO treasury. Following the DAO's dissolution, Lisk announced a burn of that 100 million, cutting supply toward 300 million; per the official Lisk account the burn has begun but is not complete.

Does LSK have a vesting schedule or unlock risk?

No. LSK has no published vesting schedule and no scheduled team or investor unlock cliffs — the token is a fixed-supply ERC-20 with no dilution calendar. The only supply-relevant schedule, a 100 million LSK DAO treasury allocation running through 2033, is void: the treasury is being burned under the cessation proposal. Holders face no future unlock events; the material dated risk is the October 31, 2026 chain shutdown, not vesting.

Who backed Lisk, and how much did the ICO raise?

Lisk's funding came from a public crowdsale, not venture rounds. The ICO ran from February to March 2016 and raised over $5.8 million — more than 14,000 BTC from roughly 4,000 participants at tokens priced near $0.10. That made Lisk the second most successful crypto crowdfund at the time. Proceeds sat with the Lisk Foundation in Zug, Switzerland, which transitioned into the Onchain Foundation with Swiss regulatory approval, announced December 2023. Later VC rounds are not publicly disclosed.

What did Lisk's airdrop involve?

Lisk ran two campaigns, both ended. Point Farming ran from November 21, 2024 to March 1, 2025, with participants completing tasks to qualify for the airdrop. Airdrop Season 1 began March 17, 2025; rewards were distributed, and the claim window — which doubled as the LSK 2.0 ERC-20 migration claim — closed by May 2026. No active earning campaigns remain, and governance contracts are winding down with the DAO.
