Durante a fase de acumulação, os volumes de negociação são significativamente maiores do que o normal. O preço flutua dentro de um intervalo por períodos prolongados, fazendo falsos rompimentos em ambas as direções, o que dificulta a análise de movimentos futuros do preço. Isso também pode ser causado pela atividade de bots de negociação ou representar o aparecimento de um grande investidor montando sua posição.
