What is the Apple xStock (AAPLX) tokenized stock?
Apple xStock (AAPLX) is a tokenized tracker certificate that gives crypto traders 1:1 on-chain price exposure to Apple Inc. (AAPL) common stock — tokenized equity without leaving crypto rails. The issuer is Backed Assets (JE) Limited, a Jersey-registered special purpose vehicle, with tokenization by Backed Finance AG. AAPLX exists natively on Solana as an SPL token and as an ERC-20 on Arbitrum One. Each token is fully collateralized by Apple shares held with regulated custodians.
Is Apple launching a crypto coin?
No. Apple has not launched any cryptocurrency or official token. AAPLX is a third-party wrapper: a tracker certificate issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited that tracks the Apple share price. Apple Inc. is not the issuer and does not operate the token. The token delivers Apple price exposure on-chain — not Apple participation.
What backs the AAPLX token's value?
Each AAPLX token is fully collateralized by Apple shares. The collateral sits with regulated custodians in segregated sub-accounts, including Alpaca Securities LLC, InCore Bank AG and Maerki Baumann & Co. AG. An independent Security Agent, Security Agent Services AG, can assume control of the collateral if the issuer defaults. This 1:1 share backing is what ties the token price to Apple stock.
Does holding AAPLX give Apple shareholder rights?
AAPLX does not confer Apple shareholder or voting rights. The certificate is a bearer debt instrument registered in Jersey, not direct equity ownership. Holders receive economic price exposure only. The xStocks documentation explicitly excludes shareholder status — anyone needing voting rights or Apple shareholder registration must hold AAPL shares directly.
How is the AAPLX token supply created and redeemed?
AAPLX supply follows an open-ended mint/redeem model with no fixed maximum. New tokens are minted when investors subscribe — against deposited Apple shares — and burned on redemption, at a fee of up to 0.50% of investment value. No management fee is currently charged, and a future fee of up to 0.25% per year is permitted. Supply expands and contracts with demand for Apple exposure; the live figure is on the DropsTab token page.
Where and how can you buy the AAPLX token?
AAPLX trades on both centralized exchanges and Solana DEXs. Per DropsTab data, AAPLX trades in 10+ tracked markets: centralized spot liquidity sits in AAPLX/USDT pairs on Bybit, MEXC, Gate and BingX, while Raydium and Meteora host the decentralized pools on Solana. Cross-xStock pairs — AAPLx/GOOGLx, AAPLx/NVDAx, AAPLx/SPYx — allow tokenized-equity-to-equity swaps. Depth concentrates in the USDT CEX pairs and Raydium USDC pools; long-tail pairs run thinner.
Can AAPLX trade when the US stock market is closed?
The AAPLX token trades 24/7, but the underlying Apple stock trades only during US market hours. When traditional markets are closed, the token price can drift from the last official AAPL close — trading at a premium or discount to NAV. Weekend and after-hours deviation is the main price risk unique to tokenized equities, and it narrows when the US session reopens.
Are there AAPLX perpetual futures?
Yes. Perpetual futures reference AAPLX on Gate.io Futures (AAPLX_USDT) and Kraken Futures (PF_AAPLXUSD). These derivatives let traders take leveraged long or short positions on the tokenized Apple exposure — including outside US market hours, when the spot token itself can drift from NAV.
Does AAPLX pay dividends?
AAPLX dividends are not paid out as cash. Per Kraken's xStocks documentation, dividend payouts on the underlying Apple stock are automatically reinvested: the token's share multiplier increases — a dividend equivalent to 0.1 shares raises a 1.0 multiplier to 1.1 — so dividend value accrues into the token itself. Stock splits are handled through the same multiplier mechanism.
Can US investors buy AAPLX?
AAPLX is not offered to US persons, and xStocks are restricted in the UK. EU/EEA distribution runs under a Liechtenstein FMA-approved base prospectus. Availability on Bybit, MEXC and other venues depends on the trader's jurisdiction — listing on an exchange does not override local eligibility rules.
