What is the SKALE Network?

SKALE is an Ethereum-native scaling network of modular, EVM-compatible "elastic chains" — dedicated appchains that run smart contracts with zero gas fees for end users and instant finality. Developers stake or rent SKL to reserve chain capacity, and the network targets gaming and AI-agent workloads with on-chain file storage, interchain messaging, and AI/ML-capable smart contracts. How does the SKALE network work?

SKALE runs a multichain network of independent chains secured by a shared validator pool. The SKALE Manager contract on Ethereum anchors each chain to Ethereum's security. Validators are randomly assigned and rotated across chains — a design SKALE uses to resist collusion. End users pay no gas: SKALE chains run on sFUEL, a non-monetary functional gas token, while developers cover capacity by staking or renting SKL.

Is SKALE an Ethereum layer-2?

Delegation lets SKL holders support validators without operating nodes themselves.

Is there a maximum supply of SKL?

The genesis pool splits across 10 allocations: Validators Rewards at 33%, Broader Founding Team at 16%, Private Round at 12.8%, Foundation at 10%, and Seed Round at 10%.
